ANDRITZ Hydro is seeking an experienced Project Procurement Specialist to support hydroelectric refurbishment and modernization projects throughout North America.

In this role, you will manage complex supplier work packages and work closely with engineering, project management, quality, and field teams to help deliver critical power generation equipment and services. Because of the close collaboration required, the position is based in Charlotte, NC.​ 

Key Responsibilities 

  •  Manage hydro refurbishment and manufacturing work packages from sourcing through final delivery.
  • Develop sourcing and execution strategies for complex equipment, services, and project work scopes.
  • Lead supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract execution, and change management.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage expediting activities, and implement recovery plans to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial, technical, quality, and schedule risks.
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, supplier quality, logistics, and field service teams to support project execution.
  • Review technical requirements, supplier proposals, manufacturing plans, and project schedules.
  • Serve as the primary procurement interface for assigned projects and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in hydroelectric generation, power generation, rotating equipment, heavy industrial manufacturing, refurbishment, machining, fabrication, welding, or related industries.
  • Experience in project procurement, project execution, manufacturing, engineering, field service, or supplier management.
  • Experience working with engineered-to-order equipment and complex manufacturing or refurbishment projects.
  • Ability to manage supplier performance, project schedules, execution risks, and stakeholder interfaces.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional project teams.
  • Familiarity with supplier quality requirements, manufacturing processes, contract management, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an asset.
